The new Kindle DX is now listed for 489 $ (about 340 €) at Amazon. As of 19 January 2010 Releasedate specified.The Kindle DX is approximately 0.97 inch thin and features a 9.7''e-ink screen, which reads like an ordinary sheet of paper. It can display images and text with 16 shades of gray. The battery life for reading is given as 7 days with activated wireless connection. But this depends very strongly on the network strength. Without wireless, it will be up to 14 days.
The screen supports Auto-Rotate and rotates automatically. This allows both cards, web pages and graphics look better.
It can be downloaded books in over 100 countries directly via UMTS. This is an integrated GSM module in the Kindle. This works without a mobile phone contract or other additional costs.
